Bees

When you say bee’s everyone immediately thinks of honey bees. Honey bees of course produce honey and some have nasty reputations for stinging innocent by-standers. However there are several species of North American bees that are essential to our ecosystems and food supplies.. these bees are not known for being aggressive and provide a vital service  in the form of pollination of flowers and plants. These pollinator bees as they are referred too are solitary creators and jump from plant to plant increasing crop yield with each and every landing. Expansion Health Central will explore the importance of these native bees and focuses on why they play a key role in gardening and agriculture.

Also we will explore how pesticides and other modern forms of agriculture are killing off these bees and adding to the already increasing problem of soil erosion and climate change.
